IBM Consulting launched its AI Integration Services in February 2025 to transform end-to-end business processes with agentic AI on the client's preferred AI and cloud platform1.

Best for: Large enterprises that want end-to-end processes such as source-to-pay or customer service rebuilt as “agentic apps” on the cloud platform they already use.

Not the right fit for: Mid-sized companies, or buyers who want measured, named results before engaging.

What IBM Consulting delivers

IBM calls the result an "agentic app" with three layers: AI assistants built into employees' everyday tools, an orchestration layer of agents that executes, monitors and controls workflows with governance built in, and data products that make enterprise data available in real time. Its consultants build these with IBM Consulting Agents Catalyst and a library of pre-built templates for processes such as source-to-pay, customer service and supply chain, combining custom agents with partner agents from Oracle, Salesforce, SAP and ServiceNow1.

Delivery runs on IBM Consulting Advantage, an internal AI platform that IBM says equips nearly 150,000 consultants with assistants, agents and applications, and that supports operation either managed by IBM or owned by the client2.

Published evidence

  • Global life sciences company (not named). A series of agents generates first drafts of technical documentation for regulatory submissions, traceable to clinical sources, which human experts review and finalise. No results are given.1

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Treats governance as part of the architecture, in the orchestration layer that executes, monitors and controls workflows.
  • Pre-built templates for end-to-end processes, combining its own agents with those from Oracle, Salesforce, SAP and ServiceNow.
  • Pairs the build with up-skilling and change management.

Limits

  • The agentic case it describes, a regulatory-content workflow for a life sciences company, does not name the client or give a result.
  • Pricing is not published.
  • Built around large, multi-platform enterprises.

Choose another option if: You want one or two agents running within months on a mid-market budget.

Questions to ask IBM Consulting

  • Which of the pre-built templates is in production at a named client, with what result?
  • Which parts of the agentic app run on IBM technology, and which on our existing platforms?
  • What does the managed option cost compared with client-owned operation?
  • How are agent permissions and approvals configured in the orchestration layer?
